🐱 Our newest student! 🐱

Learning about the vast current flowing along the Earth's magnetic field to the ionosphere is as captivating for cats as it is for our students. It took a seat and stayed for the lecture as @bscredrojo.bsky.social explained the "Birkeland currents" to our 3rd years! 😻

A new student has joined my Space Environment class today at @physicsuol.bsky.social Even sat in a chair for the full hour! It seems students also enjoyed this new way of teaching!

Although the cruise of @science.esa.int BepiColombo is quite long, we are not bored and the mission is actually contributing to Heliophysics, as you can see in this paper we’ve just published! We are all looking forward arriving to Mercury soon!

10 years of this lovely picture 😍
10 years ago, #OnThisDay in 2015, NASA's New Horizons probe performed the first flyby of dwarf planet Pluto, completing the initial survey of the Solar System. This 'true colour' photo was taken on 14 July 2015, showing numerous impact craters and the large basin of the Sputnik Planitia.

We had a really interesting session at #NAM2025 on space instrumentation, and had the great pleasure to present also the payload of M-MATISSE, including a great coverage from the RAS!
If we're to land humans on Mars in the coming decades, we'll have to know what challenges await them when they get there... 👩‍🚀🚀

So that's where a new mission proposal shared at #NAM2025 could help.
