Writing longhand in a restaurant the way god and David Mamet (before he went batshit) intended. I’m using a nice writing pad as @johnrogers.bsky.social intends instead of my cheap legal pads as well.

I’ve been a big @dswinson.bsky.social fan from way back and love his mix of Pelecanos and Michael Connelly style, but this one is more rural and small town but just as great.

I’ve been sick and miserable on and off for the last few weeks due to the flu and a medicine change and today is the first day in a while I’ve felt close to 100%. That means it’s time to play jazz records and power clean the house.

My journal is a Midori MD ruled notebook and I use this Rhodia pad for noodling and brainstorming, but for generating daily pages I go through too many to spend a lot of money. I scoured forums until I found out about sugar cane paper and fell in love. I can get a pack of 3 for $12

I mostly use my Platinum 3776 for longer writing sessions and sugar cane paper legal pads, which are a dream for fountain pens. I bought myself a TWSBI 580 Diamond for my birthday and some Diamine Writer’s Blood ink that I’m waiting to arrive. Looking forward to trying my first piston filler pen.

I was lucky enough to get an early copy of the new Ace Atkins book and it’s a blast. It makes me feel like I’m back in the 80s watching an adventure movie like WarGames, Cloak & Dagger, or Flight of the Navigator. Part of it also feels like a lost Hap and Leonard novel. Highly recommended.

I’ve been working from the kitchen because the basement is cold and wet and terrible for my health, also, Leo can’t go down there so he’s lonely. But the kitchen chairs are uncomfortable so I wanted to get a desk for the den and my in laws found this one. It’s enormous and ugly but I love it.

I previously mentioned not liking metal bracelets on watches. Well, that was before I discovered the pure genius of the jubilee bracelet. It’s lighter and has more adjustment options to get the fit exactly the way I like it. I’m now in love with it and want to find more watches to put these on.

New show rec: Good Cop/ Bad Cop on Amazon Prime is like if Northern Exposure was a cop show mixed with Monk and a bit of Twin Peaks. Highly recommended if for no other reason than Leighton Meester can do no wrong.
