It seems to me the answer is to gently correct them. Show them the error of their ways. Then if they lash back out at you the ironically you are then the one trying to do right being persecuted for it. 1 Peter shows us that the way to respond to that is in love and gentleness 4/

Peter seems to be directly addressing that sort of behaviour and thinking. But the answer isn’t to go to those people and go see you are a terrible person, because that will just lead to more conflict. 3/

In other words, make sure you’re not being persecuted because you are a jerk. That dishonours God. It seems to me many Christians purposely antagonise people knowing they will get a reaction and then point to that ‘persecution’ as evidence they’re doing the right thing. 2/

It’s already a thing. I’ve been rolling it out on YouTube as I go. You can just search Bryn Joslin on YouTube. The video quality of the first few is a bit lacking, but it gets better and I plan on re-recording those when I’m done

Too many Christians live in fear of punishment from God or from others that they never get to feel the experience of the love of God and the love of a godly Christian community. What does a community shaped by discipline vs punishment look like to you?
