Guitar playing, lover of HMFC.
A bit off it today, missed Benni, didn’t look after the ball, played through is too easily. Braga and shanks assaulted all game, Dundee Utd are a gang and some questionable decisions. The break has maybe come at the right time.

This was a very interesting listen. More interesting comments from an expert and intellectual on Tony Bloom. Love the idea that Tony Bloom is playing chess while the rest of us and potentially Scottish football are playing draughts.

Fancy Ageu to get his first goal for Hearts tomorrow if playing, Dundee Utd will pay a lot of attention to Kyzi, Shankland and Braga, could leave some space for Ageu. 🤞

Not posted on here for ages, but I’ve developed an odd habit of thinking up silly Hearts related songs while walking my dog. This one after the Falkirk game. Inspired by the recent Braga song, i thought why not share the rubbish my brain has churned out.

How I wanted my weekend to go vs the reality of my actual weekend. Adulting is less fun than not adulting. 😕

Didn’t get the ES335 thing when I was younger, I do now. Love this thing!

For anyone that loves guitars, keep an eye out for String Break guitar show next year. Went to this years show yesterday. Incredible collection of luthiers from all over the uk. This from Cranmer guitars one of several highlights for me. Several incredible builders based in Scotland.

Delighted for Newcastle, thoroughly deserved. Big 1998 Scottish cup vibes. Especially at the end.

Picked up my lockdown Strat from walltowallmusic.co.uk in Bathgate after a set up, fret level and polish. Tremendous work and feels super slinky. Like a different guitar. A great place to take your instruments if you are local. Also has rehearsal rooms and does guitar lessons. Top place.

Beni on a completely different level to everyone on the park today… again! Grant done well to get a grip of midfield again when he came on. Elton not reading the line too well though. A tough watch at times but a huge 3 points. Onwards!

Peace to indulge in a Saturday afternoon + an ES335 + a bunch of cheap pedals + a couple of old Fender amps = perfect Saturday afternoon.

Who was the last midfielder we had that was as good at looking after the ball as well as Beni does it?

Quite enjoyed Steven Naismith’s snooker style of commentary on Sportscene. A different approach.

Really wish Kabangu’s song had been “Kabangu & the Herts” to the tune of Bennie and the Jets but never mind. Should also have been reserved for permanent announcement 😀. Incredible performance, we looked as good as they were poor, delighted to see us really punishing a team. More of that please.

Excited to see what these new signings can do. All seem to have a point to prove or want to prove themselves in a new league. Hopefully bodes well. Really looking forward to see how the movement of Kabangu works against a Killie sit in protest, hopefully he’s just to clever, too quick too good.

Opposition level considered, but even only on the park for 20 minutes, James Wilson showing he’s levels above Vargas, what has happened to that boy?
January 17, 2025 at 10:14 PM
I’m not digging Shankland but did anyone else at the game think there seemed to be a bit more freedom about those on the pitch and a bit more bravery, not trying to find him all the time? Until the nervy last 15 minutes or so anyway.

@sked21.bsky.social watched the latest HS vid, great content. Is there any mechanism where a commercial decision is made on VAR, it’s become about the referee’s, the execution is completely eroding the actual product. The Wilson story being one! Is there any SPFL by law that can trigger a change?

With no Hearts game to spoil my mood, reading about guitars that cost more than a large house has been very cathartic. Required reading for any guitar geek.

Much better today, could feel the crowd looking to encourage. We don’t carry much luck but 100% deserved to win that game. Cammy tremendous, a couple of stray passes aside, Penrice and Spittal also properly stepping up. Need a run get get the belief back and nerves out of the team and the support.
December 22, 2024 at 6:51 PM
Pleased for Shankland. Devlin and Penrice excellent again. Halkett showing a bit of aggression in our defence and chucking Murray about was excellent to see. Apart from 2 x 10 minute spells, it all looked pretty easy. Dundee are not very good.

This guitar is 38 years old. It belonged to my brother who passed away in 1988. It’s been in my personal possession for over 30 years. It’s still his guitar. I will play it today, as this would have been his 50th birthday. I often think what we would have played together. So yeah… guitar of the day!
December 5, 2024 at 4:07 PM
It might be wishful thinking but felt like there was something galvanising about that result. Considering the injury’s and the nature of the goal. Next few games CPH aside are very winnable and hopefully we can get a good run. Fair play to Aberdeen & where they are but don’t look anything special.

8 Bit Saturday shenanigans.
November 30, 2024 at 3:00 PM
Sad to see Shankland get that level of stick last night. We can all agree his goal output has been poor this season and his body language has not been great, but if this is how we treat one of our best players in years, and best striker in decades, we need to have a look at ourselves. 🧵 1/7
