You make some interesting friends that say things such as "hey, you wanna try $thing" and it spider-webs out from there.

Heh, the library’s hold queue (and life in general) keeps me from bingeing too quickly and burning out. I’m about halfway through Abaddon’s Gate and it’s like a very strange rewatch of the TV series, in a very good way.

Oh right, I forgot you were asking for series. I assume you’ve already read The Expanse series, novellas too. If you haven’t read them, I would seriously encourage it! It’s my favourite modern sci-fi series.
Also the Rama books by Clarke!

I enjoyed them both, hence recs. Cline’s writing is always a bit simple and pop-culture-y (e.g. Ready Player One, Two), but good as a quick light read.
Artemis wasn’t “hard sci-fi” like Martian or Hail Mary (I LOVED those), it was Weir-lite and a solid read. Just the $.02 of an Internet stranger.

I agree that it’s a bit overhyped, but it was still a fun read.
How about Artemis by Weir?
Perhaps Armada by Cline?

The Murderbot Diaries?

Library books are still purchased books! In fact, libraries are typically paying higher prices than individuals pay, which you can think of as paying for every time the book will be borrowed (the reality of course is more complicated). There are even books whose bulk profit+sales are to libraries.
