Haven’t tried them but now I’m going to look for them.

I’m really looking forward to this one.

Thank you! I just turned around and the lines and angles were just perfect.

What would you say to someone that has just been accepted into a graduate program in the US? I’m a bit torn since it has always been their goal, but I also don’t feel they are paying enough attention or think anything happening will have an effect on them.

Still waiting on my invoice to be paid that was half expenses I fronted. I hope this actually works and they pay what they owe. Infuriating to lose your job then have your last invoice sat on with no one to even reach out to.

Congratulations on the book! Looking forward to reading this.

That’s true. Emails are easily dismissed. Well, good luck to everyone!

I feel the same way. Not much to do here but call and email reps. This shutdown will pause the remainder of my work but I’m all for it.

Recently cancelled my subscription even though it was practically free. They lost the plot long ago I think.

Sounds like both to me.

I remember something about buttery emails being a big issue.

Thank you for sharing these posts. I’m a contractor, so I was immediately issued stop work orders for my projects and told not to communicate with anyone. I’m safe, just unsure if I will be paid what I’m owed in salary and lots of expenses since we front all costs.

I follow her. That’s a good idea. I will pass that on to others. I worked in disaster management, so I don’t have any immediately horrific tales but know others who do.

It’s so awful. Most of the people working in these programs aren’t doing it for the money—better pay is elsewhere. They are doing it because they care. Many of them I worked with used to be Peace Corps volunteers.

You’re correct. It’s too late for many of us and the judge’s order didn’t even slow it down.

Beautiful! I could use a little respite and a place to stay in the US away from my family in the South. My second home is Taiwan but I’m concerned with how long that is a safe bet.

I feel for you. I’m a (was) USAID contractor and they decimated us. So many American jobs lost and small businesses going under because of this.
