Correct ProDSS needs the handheld, sonde and probes. Pricey for sure. I've used Onset Hobo data loggers for depth, temp and salinity and was very happy with them.

We use YSI ProDSS for temp, DO, pH and cond on a daily basis at my work ( MASSTC.org) and are happy with them.
