Jets guy, stats guy. That’s pretty much my whole personality.
Kyle Connor: good, but not $12M good.

Positive take: the way he plays he’s likely still effective into his 30s.

Negative take: if his finishing ever declines this goes from a potentially problematic contract to a really bad contract.

I think the org sees themselves as a contender and I disagree.

Why would you ever sign this player? There’s not a single thing he does better than average and he’s one of the worst defensive forwards in the league.

The types the Jets should absolutely stay away from

The types of guys the Jets should be after today

The Jets could have let Pionk walk and traded for Spence and they would have saved $5.5M in cap space *and* improved significantly at the position.

Man if that was Ehlers’ last game as a Jet… truly shameful deployment. I can’t imagine this won’t leave a sour taste in his mouth heading into the offseason.

This Mario Ferraro?
May 14, 2025 at 2:31 AM
Well considering the difference is significant using his playoff .902 save percentage you can certainly can the difference is significant using just the last three years. At the 5% level of significance, Helle is a different goalie in the playoffs. “Argument from authority” 😆

The one in the net has -9.6 goals saved above expected plus another -0.92 in this one and an .848 save percentage these playoffs. With all due respect, we already have worse than the Appleton of goalies in our net atm.

Whether it hits the goalie or not is irrelevant. They don’t even know their own rulebook.

We need to make adjustments in the middle 6. This is… yikes. First order of business ought to be putting Iafallo back with Lowry.
May 8, 2025 at 3:19 AM
Bizarre that Arniel never considered putting these two together
April 25, 2025 at 2:55 AM
This is not the player you give a long term deal to ever. Without Samberg he’s just a bad NHL defenceman.
April 17, 2025 at 4:27 PM
This one I can’t say I understand hahah. Apparently winning in regulation tomorrow decreases the Jets’ chances of winning the cup.

Colin Miller has been left to play with Stanley and Fleury all season and done a remarkable job. I’m worried that taking him out is gonna cost the Jets dearly. He’s very good!
April 10, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Hell yeah
April 4, 2025 at 2:47 AM
The Blues have been on a hot streak lately but the peak was against weaker teams here. They don’t scare me that much. The Wild have struggled more lately but with Kaprizov and Eriksson Ek back soon they’re a completely different team. I’m not sure it would matter to me which of the two we play.
March 31, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Luke Schenn is a major downgrade on Colin Miller. Major. Colin Miller is actually very good and not a player the Jets should at all be looking to replace.
March 7, 2025 at 6:31 PM
I really don’t care who gets put on waivers. This is a much better bet than Stanley, Fleury, Heinola, etc.
February 24, 2025 at 4:53 PM
I don’t think the argument is Ville needs to be put in an exact situation to succeed. The problem has always been how can we expect a player to be that good when he barely plays?

It’s near impossible to do inference with these sample sizes but there’s *some* good in there with 3 different partners.

Picking up Laughton especially for a significant price would be quite the error by Cheveldayoff. He needs to have a really good trade deadline and acquiring Laughton would be the opposite of that.
February 8, 2025 at 6:44 PM
The Jets choosing between Heinola-Coghlan and Stanley-Heinola choose Stanley-Heinola lmaoooooooooooo
January 13, 2025 at 5:54 PM
Beyond the isolated Stanley > Heinola bullshit, why would you not be tripping over yourselves to give Heinola-Coghlan a longer look together after last game?
January 9, 2025 at 8:32 PM
Pretty remarkable turnaround honestly.
January 5, 2025 at 1:45 AM
This is actually bonkers.
