Nostr prioritizes open comms and sovereignty without requiring consensus or ordering mechanisms like blockchains do. Different approaches to decentralization I believe.

Nope they are different. The AT Protocol uses federated servers and seems to be integrated with the Frequency blockchain now. Nostr is purely relay-based, using cryptography for identity and messages but not chains of block data...
