i'd say it could be useful for people who live in small or cramped living spaces and may not be able to have that living room tv experience, but thats entirely depending on whether the price is low enough for access to people who cant afford to live in large homes with large tvs lol.

and while that is true from what i can tell (not an expert, i dont even use AI), i now understand that all of that research was funded by people purchasing, or investing in these companies because of the public models that ARE entirely trained off stolen work. which is more understandable.

i think can get where youre coming from about the tech being built off stealing, i initially had the perspective that gen AI is just neural networks, a (not) simple math concept, that researchers put on steroids.

tbh honestly i wouldnt even blame the voice actors, its hard to find work in these times and sometimes people just need money. its unfortunately common for people to sign off on shitty contracts just to get by.

btw i should clarify i have NO CLUE if embark is building their own ai model for voices im just genuinely curious where the line is

plus, from what i can tell based on all the info i could find: embark does let their voice actors know about using their voices for genai before they sign the contract. though we dont know the details of that contract such as if they get paid every time their voice is used.

not entirely sure i follow. i dont believe embark uses anything relating to openai and "all gen ai is built on stolen work" im a lil confused about, like if you build your own ai model and train it off of only your own drawings, where does the stolen work come in?

Not really. Generative AI is used Just for voices, which aren't trained by scraped or stolen content, but by voice actors who agree to it. Whether thats still enough to keep you from playing/supporting is fully your choice but "its all full of it" is misinformed and also implies that its stolen work

its just out of nowhere and rushed and when theyre resolved its COMPLETELY UN-EARNED it feels like viv is just looking at me directly through the screen and saying "fuck im bored with this 'setup and payoff' stuff i just wanna see blitz and stolas kissing im skipping to that part"

The rule of thumb i have developed for describing why this happens is "vivziepop only writes what she's horny about". It feels like more time in the writing room is spend being impulsive and self indulgent than thinking about the bigger picture so when bigpicture story moments are SUPPOSED to happen

Haha this is funnily timed on my feed cause i just finished watching HB with my gf cause she talks about the same thing all the time, too, and yea. I think the reason people keep coming back is because theres potential in so many of these concepts but that potential is just unrealized

making art with such distinct vulnerability and playfulness that it can bring anyone to put their guard down to engage with it. and while the lewd shit is amazing at showing off all sorts of kinks from a place of passion more than lust, i think the non-lewd stuff deserves just as much popularity.
