Chase & Zaide are in double figures, 16 & 10 points respectively. Zaide’s throw down was “jump out of your seat” good.

8 assists, 6 turnovers. Improvement throughout the first half.

8 assists on 15 buckets. Improved over last 8 minutes.

(+4) points in the paint

(-8) points off TO

Much like Itejere, Amadou made the most of the final minutes of games during his freshman year at #mubb.

Amadou shot 73% from inside the arc in limited minutes while dishing out 4 total assist and grabbing 6 rebounds.

It will be interesting to see how Al does with more run with the Hawks. 2/

For those #mubb fans that are interested in former players and where they are now, this is the post for you.

After two seasons at Marquette including a redshirt season last year, Al Amadou has landed at St. Joseph's for the upcoming season.

Amadou averaged 3.7 minutes his true frosh year. 1/

Itejere played the last two seasons at NKU averaging 7 points, 5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks that past two seasons. Itejere was Top 3 in the Horizon conference for blocked shots the past 2 years.

Itejere entered the portal this past season and landed at Rhode Island for his senior season. 2/

For those #mubb fans that are interested in former players and where they are now, this is the post for you.

Keeyan Itejere spent his freshman year at Marquette dunking all over the place during the final seconds of games. Itejere dunked all 5 of his field goal attempts in just 29 minutes. 1/

Royce Parham and Damarius Owens are the other most likely candidates to score, but the former high school teammates have been inconsistent.

Owens turned the ball over at a 21% rate last season. Parham had an inefficient 50% EFG. Owens was even worse shooting from the field at 49.5% EFG. #mubb

March.

Lowery had a team-high 119.4 ORtg but it's a small sample size. Lowery's EFG of 57% is impressive and Zaide did it from beyond arc (38%) and inside the arc (59%).

Most remarkable to me was Lowery's acceleration to the basket when he went into attack mode for #mubb.

Who's going to step with Chase for #mubb?

My guess is Zaide Lowery.

Lowery's minutes were so inconsistent last season, due to effort and injury.

But in stretches, Lowery was sublime.

Lowery had great minutes versus the Lobos in the NCAAT. Lowery also had a strong stretch in February & ...

Ross had an ORtg of 115.3 & an EFG of 54%. Ross was decent from 3 shooting a 36% clip but needs to get better inside the arc where he made just 54%.

By comparison, Kam was more crafty from inside the arc shooting 58%.

Efficiency will be key for Chase and for #mubb.

Then, we have Ben Gold.

The prior season with TK and Oso, the team AdjO was 21st in the country and all starters with the exception of David Jopin had an ORtg higher than 117.

Where will the offense come from this year for #mubb?

Chase Ross would be the ideal choice. Ross had a 17% usage last year.

dropped slightly from 118.6 to 118.1 but his EFG dropped from 60% to 54%.

Of the returning players, the Top 3 in O-rating are:
Zaide Lowery - 119.4
Ben Gold - 118.2
Chase Ross - 115.3

By comparison, last year, Stevie Mitchell (119.6) led #mubb and the team AdjO was 35th in the country.

Let's start on with the #mubb offense this season.

None of the returning players had a usage rate over 20%. Why is that important?

Generally, a higher usage means a decreased effectiveness. Last season, Kam Jones went from a 25% usage to a 29% usage as a senior. Kam's O-rating ...

I will be honest, I'm a pretty big #mubb optimist.

Guilty as charged.

But I'm a little concerned about the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

This will be the first year with "Shaka's players".

Wait? What?

Kam Jones and Stevie Mitchell were the last of the Wojo commits.
