I think there are two things going on here. Yes, all shows eventually fade away. And without syndication keeping them on tv in front of people they fade faster than they used to. But with GOT it seemed that it went from being talked about everywhere to being gone in a matter of weeks.

Yes but you could be making that revenue as a hobby, not a business. You have to consider the legal test.

There is caselaw supporting a division between a "business" and a "hobby" which CRA usually uses to disallow people trying to claim business losses.
