Compiling the best resources on Elon Musk’s siege of the American government, the extremist philosophy of Curtis Yarvin, and the beliefs of Silicon Valley elites.

Reminder that Grimes attended Yarvin’s wedding last year and was reported by WaPo on January 31 as having been seen with him at a Trump inauguration party hosted by his publisher.

As Yarvin wrote in 2009:

Nothing to see here! Just the president mindlessly parroting neoreactionary talking points. Of course DOGE is going to report “irregularities” in Treasury payments! Because they’re operating under Yarvin’s theory that the entire financial system is defective and therefore all debt is illegitimate.

With what we know as of now though, I do think this project could explain in part Shaotran’s appeal for Musk.

His author bio has been removed from Amazon, but ThriftBooks still has a description of his book Stock Prediction with Deep Learning. His business website, energize dot ai, boasted of its work with OpenAI before going offline sometime in March or April of 2024. It linked to a paper on AI he cowrote.

In October, xAI announced Shaotran’s team as the winner of its 2024 Hackathon. The challenge was, “Developing a prediction pipeline focused on a Machine Learning task, with the aim of integrating XAI techniques to black-box predictions.”

Some notes on Ethan Shaotran: It appears he’s done a pretty thorough job of scrubbing himself from the online record, but archives provide us with some clues as to why he was chosen by Musk.

Through simpering prose, he explains that Trump need only appear to be in control after installing a CEO—Yarvin’s favored euphemism for a “monarchist—who will run the executive branch without any congressional or judicial oversight. He called it The Butterfly Revolution.
