I love the sound of Dutch, but I don’t think I’ll ever learn it.

I was thinking of maybe making each language a client and then making projects for things like reading, flashcards, textbook, videos, etc. But I’m not really sure how it would work. I haven’t tried yet.

Thanks. I was looking for a good tracking app. I’d found Toggl, but wasn’t sure if it would be suitable, but from your post, it looks like it is. Do you divide things down further, or just by languages?

I used the FSI courses you can find for free online. I started with the Programmatic course and halfway through that, I added in the Basic course. The FSI Spanish courses are excellent. The French ones look good too, so I intend to use it for French too. Unfortunately, not all of them are so good.

There are loads of shows and books in German and it’s a lot of fun to learn. Not too difficult either for an English speaker.

If you are looking for audio files, try Forvo, the audio dictionary.

This is sort of like the audiolingual drills I used to learn Spanish. The drills were audio-based and you only substituted one part of the sentence at a time based on the prompt you were given. If the prompt meant you had to change the grammar, you did that too.

Thanks. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they have it for iOS.

I remember when I first came to Norway. I had learned Bokmål, but the dialect where I moved to was so different, I almost wondered if I’d learned the wrong language.

Jeg kommer fra USA og bor i Norge. Jeg lærer ikke nederlandsk, men jeg forsto deg. Forstår du meg?

I suppose I would offer English or Norwegian in exchange for Kurmanji, Spanish or German.

It’s just a clickbait title. I haven’t watched the video, but I find those kinds of titles annoying. There was a trend among YouTube language teachers of titles like “Don’t say ‘Thank you’” and it was so irritating. This seems like the same thing.

The real answer, which I did find further down the search results, seems to be: Peromyscus mexicanus

I think most of us are here, but maybe not as active. I keep going back to the other place still because there are some people I like to keep up with that are still there.
