Academic publishing is a strange economy, but pre-orders—especially by libraries—really do help: they increase visibility and ensure access. If the book seems relevant to your institution, I’d be grateful if you considered recommending a copy to your university library. /6

Over the past years, I’ve had the opportunity to discuss this research with club representatives, supporters, scholars, and many others. As the publication date approaches, I’m looking forward to continuing those conversations.

The book explores how four major clubs — FC Bayern München, FK Austria Wien, AFC Ajax, and Tottenham Hotspur Football Club — came to be seen as “Jewish.” It analyzes how football has become a site for negotiating:
• Collective memory
• Identity
• Antisemitism
in post-WWII Europe.

That conference sparked a question that stayed with me:
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭 “𝐘𝐢𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲” 𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞 “𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐬” 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 — 𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡?
Is this a form of solidarity? Antisemitism? Or something else entirely?
