What is the proportion of women among economic elites? It is very small... and MUCH smaller than when looking at board composition. We discuss this finding - among many others - in the comparative paper we just published in the British Journal of Sociology: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

Can you reach a top economic position 💰🏦 without graduating 🎓 from college? It is VERY unlikely and, in the US 🇺🇸, the proportion of economic elites without a college degree is even smaller than in many other advanced economies. Check out our BJS paper: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

The USA have the OLDEST economic elites 🇺🇸, China has the YOUNGEST ones 🇨🇳. We discuss this finding - among several others - in the comparative paper (16 countries) we just published in the British Journal of Sociology: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

March 29, 2025 at 2:37 PM

Which countries have the worst gender ratio among their economic elites? We just published in the @bjsociology.bsky.social the first systematic comparison between 16 countries answering this and many other questions! Apparently the 2016 argument with H. Clinton has been settled and we now definitely know who’s the puppet.
