If more people understood those connections—how much we consume and share from different cultures—maybe there’d be fewer walls, less 'us vs. them.'

Maybe the table could represent the perfect world where everything is mixed and everyone is welcome.

In the class, Michael Twitty taught how to trace roots through food, which sparked something in me.

Since then, I’ve been fascinated by how food tells the story of our families, local communities, and the world.

You might ask, why politicize everything?

It’s not that I need to—everything is connected to politics. History, what we eat, how we live—it’s all intertwined.

Specifically with food, this reflection began after working on a graphic package for MasterClass a few years ago.
