Green Party campaigner in Birmingham. Passionate about safer streets, community engagement, natural solutions and a just society. He/him
Yeah, Nigel, I mean, imagine a sitting MP having 10 other jobs, including promoting bitcoins used to fund the Russian war effort, advising people how to avoid tax in the UK and supporting foreign governments against the UK. That would be very unpatriotic, wouldn’t it?

Really not the weather you want for going out and delivering newsletters! The glamour of life in local politics!
November 14, 2025 at 9:07 AM
Why just deliver newsletters when you can also do a quick solo litter pick afterwards and report some fly tipping? A productive morning/early afternoon in Billesley for @brumgreens.bsky.social

Compare and contrast Green MPs v Reform. Making hope and empathy normal v angrily punching down at the most vulnerable.

I have one thing in common with Nigel Farage - we’ve both been influenced by Russia. While he is an admirer of authoritarian rule and corruption, I like beetroot salads (like this which I made today), literature and music!

It was great to spend some time with @zackpolanski.bsky.social in Handsworth today, welcoming him to one of my favourite parts of the city (outside Billesley where I live, of course). The reaction on the streets was great and he had a real connection with people. Can’t wait to see the video.

Just made myself a very green smoothie while I was waiting for my computer to reboot! The benefits of WFH 💚

A productive morning litter picking with my fellow Billesley campaigner @cpgarghan.bsky.social and some fantastic volunteers. Thanks for all your help!

We need migrants. None of them should be forced into dangerous boats that make money for criminals. Open safe and legal routes that put criminals out of business and save lives of people coming here to contribute to our country.

There are many issues in Birmingham that need @brumgreens.bsky.social campaigners’ attention, so yesterday @cpgarghan.bsky.social was at the @betterstreetsforbirmingham.org event in the city centre, while I was cleaning up Billesley Common!

Thanks to everyone who is standing in the Green Party elections. It was a great field standing for deputy leader, but Rachel got my first choice with @frankadlingtons.bsky.social second. I also #BackZack for leader.

Yesterday, I was mainly offline. I went for a family meal to celebrate my dad’s birthday, then we paid our respects and saw the tributes to Ozzy on Black Sabbath Bridge. After that, we watched the Lionesses retain the Euros! So much pride in my family, city & country- positives to take into Monday!

It's always tempting to look for easy solutions when the problems require much more thought and nuance, even on hyperlocal levels. This shows the pond in a local park (Swanshurst) where algae is making it smell and there are ducks and other wildlife sick/dying (1)

RIP to one of Birmingham’s finest. Ozzy played his last gig here a couple of weeks ago and raised loads of money for charity as well as creating a hell of a party. There should be a lasting tribute with a museum of metal in Birmingham on Station Street.

Fellow campaigner @cpgarghan.bsky.social and I had a very wet morning of litter picking on Coleside Avenue and Brook Lane! We have also tidied up a large amount of fly tipping and arranged for it to be removed.

Got a lovely email from Friends of Yardley Wood library. Great to see things starting to move so quickly after Tuesday's meeting! If you want to be involved, sign up here: www.ywfriends.org

I felt really proud of myself for doing this. Not often you get to help some ducklings in the centre of Birmingham!

Is everyone else getting pushed this genocide propaganda on YouTube? #Gaza #Genocide
June 12, 2025 at 10:34 PM
I have had some success in getting graffiti removed recently, so here’s another eyesore reported today opposite Swanshurst School ref GRA011134. Replacing it with some proper street art would be the ideal solution, but artists need to be paid.

9 years ago, I had just started a job for a charity called Remembering Srebrenica, which had government funding to teach lessons from this genocide of Muslims to counter hatred. Now the government is leaning into far right narratives, arming and facilitating genocide in Gaza!

Out with ‪@cpgarghan.bsky.social‬ and some fantastic volunteers litter picking on Trittiford Rd and Braceby Avenue this morning. About 18 bags full of rubbish taken off the streets. Thanks to passers by for all the kind words and to our volunteers for their hard work (not all in the photo)!

Facebook put this on my feed for some reason! Apparently, this is what passes for humour in Reform circles 🙄 I see they’ve gone for a piss-weak tasteless version of something originally from Germany!
May 29, 2025 at 7:28 AM
I found this in my Facebook memories today from 2012. Could have been written today about the current government. What change have they offered?

A bit nerdy, I know, but I have really enjoyed watching the Star Wars Andor show and Mon Mothma’s speech in the senate was a particular highlight! Anyone else?

Labour does have a track record on pandering to racism. Starmer isn’t the first to do “incalculable damage” to their reputation as a progressive party, but it may be the final nail in the coffin.
