I could swear backlight strobing was already a thing but as a monitor technology. It always had the effect of darkening the screen significantly so I never used it. I could be confused with something else.

I got my nephew the mini yoto thing and apparently he (only) puts the fireplace cartridge in it and walks around holding it aloft as one would a torch. Not sure if it's christian but they love a good fire I thought
