Just this guy, you know?
It's gimmick can hit the brain in weird ways. I bounced off of it hard back in the day but I'm curious if I'd approach it differently now.

My static is a bunch of 40-somethings, many of whom are college friends trying to find time to hang out every week. Due to schedule changes we just went from 90mins a week to 60 minutes.

The pain is real. I only put up with it I'd rather die with these clowns for an hour than win with strangers.

Hear. Feel. Think.

I had to turn all the autocorrect stuff off because of things like that. Youtube still always corrects LRR to LRT. Light rail's cool and all, but I'm not that kind of autistic.

Oh! Completely different show but I just remembered how Waiting for God ended and that was lovely.

I remember a show I loved that ended with the main character turning out the lights and being the last to leave, but that's all I remember. Cheers? Fraiser? Some show that really oriented around a place.

A cliche ending but a wonderful mood in the right place.

It let them start the OVA with everyone sitting down to compare notes, recapping for the audience.

Doesn't quite count because there was an intentional movie finale, but Key the Metal Idol's series part ended with one guy putting the pieces together and confronting another with everything that was going on. He just replied "I don't think it's time for spoilers just yet". Cut to credits.

There's some people I met in middle school where I distinctly thought "oh wow, they're like me, I'm gonna be friends with them" and I wish I had kept that energy.

The side-eye smile at 1:15 is sending me. It's stuff like that where Henson shines in making people forget they're puppets.

I found it's an interesting feeling. Kinda "why am I hanging onto this."

I tried looking into PC authenticators recently (my phone broke) and Microsoft says "we don't support that because you should have your authenticator on a separate device." Nevermind how often I'm logging into things ON MY PHONE.

The main Chabad rabbi I interact with keeps offering to "teach me how to tie tefillin". I know how to do that, my grandpa taught me. I'm not gonna play games here if you wanna say something just say it.

Lovely guy aside from that.

I was playing the "spin around until you get dizzy and fall over" game right next to a post. Needed stitches, 30 years later there's still a gap in my eyebrow.

I look forward to someone targeting a legendary or planeswalker (they don't get loyalty counters even if you duck the legend rule somehow), pause, and then scoop on Arena.

I used to think I was good at reading people, eventually I realized I was actually good at making up stories to justify my expectations.

Wicked Thunder has that great "WHY WON'T YOU DIE" finisher so it's my first thought. More than first instinct, though, I'd say Shinryu EX, you have a lot of interaction between the boss and the stage, but EX adds the opportunity to run on top of the boss dodging lasers.

So the 5th season was fine, they had denoument stuff they hadn't been able to fit into season 4 that was still quite good, but especially compared to the overpacked 4th season it felt a little looser.

Babylon 5 is my call as well even though it was a bit... weird.

For those who don't know, because it's been 30 years, the show was plotted for 5 seasons and mostly held to that. They were going to be cancelled after 4 so crammed the 4th season full of plot, then were told they'd get a 5th anyway.

I've also encountered a few whose strategy seems to be "just counter everything, mill a couple of cards so you deck yourself first, and wait for natural card draw to do the job" and those are miserable and unfun. My mill decks tend to win on turn 7-8, not turn 25.
January 2, 2026 at 3:49 AM
There's a couple of more "traditional" mill decks that still work that way. They tend to use Riverchurn as a closer but there's a few 6-mana spells that mill half a target's deck so that's a 2-card combo if you stall until you have enough mana.
