My understanding is that the data exists, but it wasn't put into a report due to no one working during the shutdown. A delayed or revised report should be able to be compiled and/or combined with the next month's data. BLS should be able to provide an estimated report before the next one is due. No?

I'm very sad to hear this news. Do authorities know what precipitated the attack? Were the Guardsmen trying to stop criminal activity? Were they the target? Who shot the suspect? Are there other suspects in the shooting? Not much information in this article.
