There's an "A side" to being a teenager in the 80's. It played a tune of great excitement, the music, fashions and the thrill of exploration as adulthood beckoned. The "B side" was a dark, melancholic dirge echoing strikes, unemployment and the horror of HIV and that threat for some of us a shadow.
