Wow. That escalated quickly.
Seems reasonable that if someone says something unexpected you might respond with, "Oh? Why do you say that?" After all, they presumably have reasons, so why wouldn't you just ask? You can still check the sources on your own afterward.

I'm convinced that they are wrong, but I'm equally convinced that the only way they'll learn is by seeing the consequences of their choices. They certainly won't learn a thing from me trying convince them of anything.

Fun fact for those who might not have recognized it: These images were taken from the Southern Hemisphere. You can see that there's a point in the sky that the ground appears to rotate around. That's the Southern Celestial Pole. North of the equator you'd see the North Star in the central point.
