Fewer in traditional media, however on social media, local reporting has never been more extensively reported - even if it is opinion laden and prone to errors.

(And you can't get 'more local' than the reporting of what someone had for breakfast.)

Also profiting from Campbell's lies are YouTube, and to a lesser extent the advertisers, many of whom have no idea what content they're advertising alongside.

Francesca Albanese sums up the correct approach regarding Gaza.

Both the crimes that have been committed against Israeli civilians on Oct 7, and the crimes committed by the IDF on the Palestinian people, should be pursued with the same rigor.

Getting to any efficient healthcare model in the US will be a painful process, but worth the effort.

I'm a fan of those in the US who know that there is a better system, and haven't given up.

(That means you Jan!)

In the meantime, the US serves to the rest of the world as model of what not to do!

"No Copays" in the context of 'Medicare for all' is still a recipe for lots of workers administering 'insurance', which is additional costs viewed by countries like NZ as unnecessary for the provision of healthcare.

(I appreciate that Medicare for all is a step forward for the US.)

The cost of administering payments (and trying to deal with complex clinical issues in minutes) lead to poor health outcomes.

I was in the Hokianga district, a special health zone where visits to the clinic are free & the standard time is 30 mins.

I am now in an Auckland district where it costs $20-$70 per 15 minute visit.

With my last GP visits I was encouraged to make a double booking, which costs double.

There are improvements to be made to the NZ system, including better funding of GP visits which range from NZ$20-$70 per visit, with two free zones (Hokianga and Gisborne) where GP visits are completely funded.

Keep in mind that a healthier society which lives longer pays more tax.

Paying direct from taxes directly is in my view a better model because of the cost of administering the public insurance.

The goal should be significantly reducing out of pocket expenses, because even if they are reimbursed, it means increased reluctance to seek medical help earlier.

100% yes.

The paper you shared talks about 'Medicare for All' and is based on having a single payer system, as outlined by Bernie Sanders.

At its core, it is a public insurance system, similar to the ones in Australia, and the UK.
