There were also two series of Bob's Your Uncle on Saturday nights from Central. 1991/2 seem to ring true as dates.

You missed out Ray Lonnen was in Yellowthread Street. YTV filmed it in 1989, taking a prime spot on Saturday night in 1990. Despite the success, the cost was astronomical, and YTV canned series 2, paying the actors off.

Calendar was, and still is, a fantastic regional news programme. Essentially magazine in production, it was a 30 minute slab of what was going on, and wasn't to be missed. This special was essentially a long form version Calendar interview. Marvellous.

Maybe its time for a fresh look at the network, with a commercial perspective. There's plainly lots of over provision in some areas, but a commercial mind would look at the overall costs and likelihood of gaining additional business. Cutting long established routes (11, 30 etc.)alienates your core.

Calendar was always, and still is, a great programme. Always highly enjoyable and the presenters were household names.

No mention in the book, although it covers the period 1981 to 1985. I would have thought that permission would have to have been sought from a high level for such a change. I've seen pictures of the station with plain black on white. Presumably there would have been a supplementary sheet issued?
