I'm not very active on bsky as a whole, but I like opening it up to see what you work on. I'll be watching to see if you ever feel up to work in the Seattle area >_<
don't let these ppl get in the way of your career. As much as I love being a furry they can often be the worst clients.

Delays in tattoo sessions, especially long ones, are normal which is why you should always manage your time around one if you plan to get one. These aren't commissions where terms are different. This is an entirely different practice and community.

That includes mental strain and exhaustion for the artist to be accounted for. If you are getting a permanent modification to your body and can't account for a minor delay that is on you. They can always reschedule but a refund for an appt deposit is not on the table. The deposit was insanely small.

If you are scheduling a 12hr tattoo session, you need to put your ENTIRE DAY aside for that, it's unreasonable to put the onus on the artist and be inflexible about your time. A 12 hour session is not a 6, or 4, or a 2 hour. They planned out a long tattoo session, they don't deserve a refund.

Based on what I know, this entire drama is just silly. 12 hours allotted to one session is way beyond the average and a 2-hour delay is literally nothing. You were being generous. The deposit is for materials and to draw at the client's request. This is not a piercing or a haircut.

Nonrefundable deposits are industry-standard as by the day of the appointment, the body art has been made and materials invested into. A 2 hour delay for a tattoo is slightly long but not dramatic.
