Of course I'd be remiss if i didn't do Sixie's blue Big Finish Coat too. I started with this one, actually. Took a few liberties, but also the jeans and shoes look good with this getup.

I started with circles & worked my way through two skeins of RHSS Bitty Stripes in Rainbow, which gave me 65 circles. Hexagon borders using RHSS Latte Stripes took under 1½ skeins. I just started my fourth & final skein of Rainbow. I have 65 full hexes & 40 circles. HOME STRETCH! Very 70s colors...

The hexagon portions of the motifs are tans, rusts, and browns, though that's difficult to see with the color balance. A burgeoning pile of completed hexagons and partially completed circles. The stacks of each are held together with doubled yarn threaded through the center of each motif to keep them organized.

I was inspired by stained glass roundels in Tom Baker's Secondary TARDIS Control Room from the 14th season of Doctor Who. I've always loved that control room. It fits beautifully with the dark Gothic feel of that season's adventures.
A room with deeply-colored wood paneled walls. The walls are a grid of circles, several of which contain backlit abstract stained glass. In the middle of the room, circled by a wood and brass railing, is a hexagonal dais, or console. One panel on top of this dais is open, showing an array of multicolored buttons. To the right side of the room, several steps lead up to a dark alcove in the wall. To the left rear, an ornate wooden chair sits next to a small table. Tom Baker as Doctor Who and his companion (mostly hidden behind The Doctor, not sure if it's Sarah Jane or Leela) are looking at a screen which shows a field of stars. The Doctor is manipulating the buttons inside the top panel of a hexagonal dais, on top of which rests a shaving mirror on a tall stand. To the right of the viewscreen is a wooden paneled wall, with a motif of repeated roundel medallions. Some of these roundels have backlit stained glass in abstract arrangements.
