“Green River” b/w “Commotion” I think I might have preferred that great b-side!

not sure why the Peripheral Vision cover didn't show up...

That’s by Julia Gorton and very much in the style she developed in _Beat It!_, the circa’78 zine we did together. www.juliagorton.com/coming-new-p...

A film daring enough to show the American dream for what it really is (violence and lies)

They ask “What perfect albums came out when you were 16?” I show you 4 of them (1973, btw)

gonna repeat myself (though I added some color and blur) and post this again for people who are in the vicinity in the early evening of valentine's day. Che and I (75 Dollar Bill) will play what we think of as music and I think Corey and Yasi will, too - but I haven't heard that stated explicitly!

I didn't think we'd be playing in NYC anytime soon, but this opportunity has happily arisen! 75 Dollar Bill in duo form (me and Che Chen) plus our friends Yasi and Corey.

an earlyish show on your valentine's day...

You've probably seen some of Julia Gorton's photos of her, but have you seen the whole amazing book she published a while ago?

This Saturday in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, we'll be showing and telling about the zine and where it came from with Paul Campagna (who's interested in a lot of things, inc. Delaware where Julia and I met)

Julia did most of the work, and her visuals are what make the thing, but I contributed a bunch of sometimes questionable reviews, a couple bits of graphics and a few interviews. Julia has made a book with the 4 issues compiled with stuff from her archives and current essays from us both.

We covered the punk bands we were seeing in NYC, the records we were hearing from the UK and elsewhere, and eventually the "No Wave" scene. Julia's photos, especially those of Lydia Lunch, James Chance and Anya Phillips have become the most (pardon the overused word) _iconic_ from that bunch.

I like to live in the present and, in spite of _everything_, I'm hopeful about the future. But sometimes history (even personal history) is important and I have some. In '77, as a 20 year old NYU student with my girlfriend at the time Julia Gorton, I made a fanzine called _Beat It!_
