Happy dilettante, concerned about the environment and the effect of human population on the planet. Sailing is my happy place.
Loved the gig at the Longley International! Thanks for this backgrounder. Any plans for a live release?

Yes, looks like major party collusion to destroy the Greens.

Yes, forgot about this Howard legacy! So many!

He popularised the ‘lowest common denominator’ of the Australian character.

He also normalised jingoistic and anti-intellectual attitudes, promoting higher respect for sporting achievements than for education. If the community valued higher education more, our society would benefit and our public education and universities would be the best in the world…

Imo, his major legacy is our wildly inequitable tax laws that provide endless opportunity for the wealthy to avoid tax at the expense of lower earners. Limitless negative gearing has resulted in our current housing crisis.

Hunter was the sporty version - the basic version was the Arrow. Our family second car was an arrow bought new in 1968. I had a Hunter in 1976, I thought it was hot ‘cause it had twin carbs and a tacho!

When I lived in Brisbane many years back, the sound of the mower used to bring a pied butcher bird to grab all the flying bugs, kill them and store them in nooks and crannies of our TV antenna as a larder for later!

Labor has once again run a masterclass in how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by ignoring the messages from the electorate.

Good show RIchard Dennis interview was the highlight. Wish there was more analysis on how to change things rather than what’s wrong though…

Send a warning about those mighty tallons though!

Just saw Jim Chalmers say he ‘didn’t have Julie (Collins) seat as one to watch’. Why not? Salmon issue is (rightly) huge here! 🤞for Peter George.

Prof, have you seen the 2006 movie ‘Idiocracy’? Some might say life imitating art.

This is a furphy - more houses offered up to investors. We need to change the tax system to value HOME ownership over property investment. Making the interest on the 1st 500k of a first home mortgage tax deductable is not the same as 1st home buyers grant. Can someone please do the modelling?

Tax breaks are precisey the incentive that Keating used to get people to put money into super, and it works (for everyone). Also what Howard used to get people to invest, ie negative gearing. If govt really wanted more people to afford their own homes, it would be a good incentive. Just a thought…
