And there used to be like a code of conduct? That usually went hand in hand with protecting the ANIMALS the fandom was all about. I shouldn’t be at a fucking con where the largest vendor is a leather/ hide seller! Tired of seeing dead animals in fandom/ occult spaces, I’m not cool with it.

I don’t like to be a downer, but I also hate standing by while the only things I love get trampled, sold, ignored and destroyed. And its sole causes are laziness, greed and desire for temporary dopamine. Furry should have stayed secret.

Esp when it comes to things like the environment, the fandom, creativity etc. like you’ll sit there and argue the politics of a million dollar budget cartoon with strangers online but you can’t “handle” the stress of talking about extinctions? About the damage of marketing in the fandom?

I don’t know how to explain it. But when I say things against the grain and folks say “that’s just life” or “ooh, I don’t want talk about that” or “I can’t handle that right now”
There IS a part of me that gets that.
There is also a very angry part of me that says “well then, inherit the earth”

Every time the “easier path” is chosen, every time “purchase over effort” is chosen. The “I made this, it came from within me” the so called “fandoms lifeblood” is made of, became that much easier to sell. And now it’s all as ironic as a bad adult swim joke. Easily forgotten. Often quoted. Not funny
