And last is THE WARDEN, a playbook about being a warrior on a hunt. Inspired by Dragon Age's Grey Wardens and by Breath of the Wild, the Warden comes from a world destroyed by a great evil and now seeks to stop the horde before it overwhelms worlds beyond--whatever it takes.
The Hunt: You are sworn to hunt your Quarry, a horde of calamitous monsters or similar supernatural force that destroyed your World and has spread to those beyond, to extinction. Describe them and choose 1 or more of the following that make them dangerous, or make up your own: ● They travel in large packs. ● They infect what they touch. ● They steal the appearances of other people. ● They multiply in vast numbers or grow in size when left unchecked. ● They are far more clever and organized than the average beast. ● They can only be permanently killed by a specific method or material. ● They devour ceaselessly. ● One counts as a Small Gang. When you stand against your Quarry when no one else is prepared, gain Lift on your first action. When you emerge victorious from an encounter with your Quarry, you Level Up and anyone who aided you fully heals, then choose 1 more of the above to become true about your Quarry as it grows stronger too. Know Thy Enemy: In order to best oppose your Quarry, you have had to become more like them. Describe the ritual you take, or have already taken, to imbue you with their powers. Any applicable qualities that make your Quarry dangerous now also apply to you, and when your Quarry is nearby you can sense them and psychically commune with them. When someone first sees you wield the powers of your Quarry and is frightened, they can make a Dark Link.

THE ESCAPIST is a playbook written while listening to Escape from the City on loop, predictably inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog, but also by Goku and other purehearted knuckleheads. Its about being reckless and restless, but always striving to protect others despite loving to put yourself in danger.
Must Keep On Moving Ahead: When you’ve been in one place for too long, you can completely spend a Link with a person you met there to compel the GM to provide you with a passage to somewhere new and dangerous. If someone tries to keep you from leaving, make a Dark Link. Fight Them at Their Strongest: When you purposefully give an enemy time to rest, prepare, power up, or otherwise make themselves stronger before fighting you, Level Up and make a Heart Link with them. Anyone who watches in dismay as you let this happen can make a Dark Link with you.

THE CAVALIER is an updated remake of the Jockey, shaken up and retooled for 2E. Its still got all the same ideas--you are the driver of a Signature Vehicle, which acts as everything from a powerful weapon to a roof over your head, inspired by Fast & Furious and my decade owning a shitty minivan.
Behind the Wheel: You have a signature Vehicle, a distinctive and impressive ride capable of traveling between Worlds and that acts as if an extension of your body and soul. Describe it; it can be anything from a car or a motorcycle to a personal space shuttle or a pair of rollerblades, but by default it cannot comfortably fit more passengers than the number of players in your game. People can make Links with your Vehicle as they would a person. Pick one of the following Boons to apply to your Vehicle. When you use your Vehicle to do something and its Boon applies, take Lift. ● Handling: Making quick turns, sudden stops, and precise movements. You can never lose control of your Vehicle while you’re behind the wheel. ● Power: Crashing into things, plowing through walls, and navigating rough terrain. While behind the wheel, treat your Harm clock as one step longer. ● Shelter: Protection, comfort, and being a home on wheels. Once per World, when you gather with two or more other people inside your Vehicle to take a rest, you all fully heal. ● Flair: Defying logic and gravity, throwing caution to the wind, and looking damn cool while doing it. When you use your Vehicle to perform a sick stunt or dangerous maneuver verging on the impossible, you and your passengers never risk direct Harm. If your Vehicle is ever permanently lost or destroyed beyond repair, either change playbooks or lose access to your playbook abilities until you are able to acquire a new Vehicle to replace it. Let Me Drive My Van Into Your Heart: When you share a personal moment with someone inside or centered around your Vehicle, they can make a Heart Link with your Vehicle. If they already have a Heart Link with your Vehicle, they can Lock it or reactivate it if it's already Locked. If they already have an unspent Locked Heart Link with your Vehicle, you can both Level Up instead. You can only do this once per session per person.
