My aunt saw this in my kitchen, read it aloud, and turned around and said, “I’d love to be a younger model version of myself.”

She has no idea that The Substance exists.

'Bones' and its director Ernest Dickerson deserve their flowers when they often receive thorns. Jazzmin Crawley (@gtsjazz.bsky.social) explains why on Dread Central.

I work within HIV care, prevention, as well as transitional care. It’s the basis of my job. I act as the middle person who finds financial patient assistance for those in need.

Gonna start occasionally documenting my favorite characters within horror …

… so I thought I’d start with Sheila (Toy Newkirk) from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988).

Nerdy. Honest. Smart as fuck. Iconic. Relevant.

Gaga’s Abracadabra video pleases me with choreo similar to Nina McNeely’s in Climax stained with ‘92’ Bram Stoker’s Dracula color aesthetics. And that’s 2 of the reasons why I love it.

To start off Dread Central's Black History Month programming, Sharai Bohannon (@sharai.bsky.social) is here in defense of 'Abby' and she's asking you to put some respect on the film's name and legacy.

Horror is art. All art is political; therefore horror is political.

It took me a minute because *waves arms in the air to reflect the crazy shit that is happenint*, but here’s my final ranking of the V/H/S franchise.

Some crazy shit went on throughout these films, and I expect crazier shit in further entries. Things I never imagined I’d see on celluloid.

If any of the above ignites hatred within you, I do not side with you. This small space on social media is not a place for you.

If any of this ignites pride and/or strength then this place is for you. If any of this ignites a need for pride and/or strength then this place is for you.

Birdeater

It’s like if you took The Hangover, stripped all of the comedy away, and revealed the insecurities and toxicity of the men involved. Also, trippy visuals.

Get Away

A slog of a first few acts turns into a bloody final act thanks to a little something something occuring.

Funny little twist on folk horror. Stick with it. The payoff is definitely worth it.

Don't you dare turn your eyes away from history, even the awful, scary parts. If you don't watch it with your own eyes, you rely on others to tell you what you saw. We must all bear witness to what's coming.

Pop star horror. I think I sorta love this timeline. (Literally the timeline of pop star horror. Not the actual insanity that exists in this timeline)

Spent this past weekend with some 80s horror that were blind spots for me.

Destroyer (1988)
Without Warning (1980)
The Beast Within (1982)
Next of Kin (1982)
