“If Prop 50 is successful, it should fortify in every Democratic elected official and leader that the voters are on the side of action in order to prevent a Republican takeover of the House of Representatives and the 2026 midterms” says @johnbisognano.com
California’s Prop 50 hugely important. Its approval by voters will not only combat Texas gerrymander but hopefully convince other Dem states to step up & counter Trump’s plan to rig midterms www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

The state can strike the first blow against Trump's plan to subvert democracy.

"If you don't stand up and fight now, if you don't take a position now, it's going to be too late," Eric Holder tells Rachel Maddow. "The time is now to stand up and do all that we can to fight this administration."

So incredibly proud of our work for @ericholder.bsky.social at @democraticredistricting.com to push for a democracy-minded WI Supreme Court over the years— it’s been a journey since the Dallett race in 2018, but even in the darkest moments, a little spark of hope is what you need to start a fire.

Elon Musk might try to censor the fact that the American people — in blue AND red areas — are standing up against Trump’s dangerous actions, but the American people are much bigger in numbers than users on X. Flood the zone on ALL platforms: the people are raising their voices loudly in resistance.
Over on X, simple tweets by my colleague Greg Bluestein of the Atlanta Journal Constitution have been blocked. They were nothing but video of a town hall held by Rep. Rich McCormick R-GA where he was asked questions about DOGE

“Four years after America survived a brazen attempt to overturn an election, we must again stand firm, protect every ballot and demand that the will of the people prevails,” writes Eric Holder Jr., a former attorney general of the United States.

I gave this speech when I returned to the Justice Department 16 years ago today. Black history.

Another Attorney General will
have to give a similar speech and make the same commitments when this dark day in DOJ history finally ends.

Don’t sleep on the census. Huge implications for not only fair maps, but also policymaking & funding decisions. A group of TX and CA voters supported by @redistrictfdn.bsky.social filed a motion to intervene in a lawsuit involving the census this week. redistrictingfoundation.org/news/eric-ho...

“Giving all parties access and ability to compete on their ideas, as opposed to maps that draw one party into and/or out of power, is going to be the way that we try and measure success,” he said.

The final House race was called, putting the House at 220R-215D.

In 2016, Republicans held a 47 seat majority(!) despite the national congressional vote total looking very similar to the razor thin margin this year.

Here's what changed... 🧵
