Look into getting some high waisted pants. Your pants may have a low rise making it look like you have a lot of torso when tucking a shirt in.

With touch its usually determining the difference between clay, silt, and sand, feeling the difference in the grain size. And with smell, good practice is to say diesel-like odor even though you know its diesel or strong solvent odor not it cleared my sinuses

As an environmental scientist, yes! When logging soil I use touch to determine soil type and contamination often smells and smells different!
