I'm a polyamorous person that is here to give my opinion. I'm married, not looking for a relationship.

If you follow me, I might follow you back, but only if you have posted. My DM's are blocked.
And PS, brokkel is my pseudo, not my real name.
Well that is surprising in MMXXV.

Yes, there are plenty examples of functioning federal gouverning. And for the US it would be good to change, starting with eliminating winner takes all in the individual states. Why not devide the electorate even per state. And a multiple party system instead of the 2 party system you have now.

And it is also depending of what is covered in the healthcare, things like dental might not be or only partialy covered but emergency is always covered. You think you need an ambulance, call emergency. There will not be a bill. And be carefull with special rescue operations, they are not covered.
April 28, 2025 at 1:23 PM
All countries have a form of universal healthcare and if you travel between countries the healthcare of your country normaly picks up the bill. This is often even for countries that are not in the Eu. Some things you have to pay but then most will be reimburst. But not if I would travel to the US.

I can understand that. I like how the German gouverment works. The president, Steinmeier, has little power. It is the kansler that has more power. But every Bundesland can shut down the federal gouverment at any given time. Their power is always limited, as it should be.
April 28, 2025 at 1:14 PM
There are a lot of things that are regulared on EU level. Foodsafety, labour rights, human rights. And the same can be said even within Germany, where the Bundesländer have a big autonomous decisive rights on how to implement federal laws. Like US states.
April 28, 2025 at 1:03 PM
Yes and no. Not in case of gay marriage or gun laws. But that was and is neither the case in the US. Because gun laws can differ between states. And now even gay marriage again. But the EU has labour laws that demand minimum 20 days paid holiday. And anti-discrimination based upon religion and sex.
April 28, 2025 at 12:46 PM
Well, in a way that already happens. It is called the European Union. But we are happy with it because we talk to each other and we don't have the issue with winner take all. I agree that the US should change its voting system. It is a broken system.
April 28, 2025 at 12:08 PM
Neither is Germany. If there is one thing that you can say about the German culture is that it doesn't excist. Bavaria is different then NRW, Hessen is culturaly different from sachsen. It is not just religion, but even language and customs.

The US has the same percentage foreigners as Germany. About 14%. Landmass has nothing to do with gouverment. California is about 15% of the us gdp.
Nord Germans are more cultural different to southern Germans then the east coast is to the west coast. Come over here one time and find out.
April 28, 2025 at 11:24 AM
Every European country has simular rules. If you want to compair? Germany, 80million people, 16 bundeslander(states). Gdp 4,92 trillion dollar. Universal healthcare, minimum 20 days paid leave, medication is 5 euro per prescription. Hospital is 10 euro per night.
And freedom of expression.

Funny, this is the problem if you start a trade war with a country that has alternative sources for you products that are only slightly more expensive, if not the same price. But you do not have alternatives for the products you are buying from them.
Short term, cheap pork, ling term unemployment...

At the same time, China lifts all trade restrictions on Australian beef, resolving a dispute that started in 2020.
So, insread of US beef they now buy Australian beef.
How do you like your victory, US?
April 23, 2025 at 9:12 AM
Yep, and the ECB, is cutting rates to help our European Economy. Because the ECB wants European companies have money to spend to keep the economy going. If it is going good the ECB will increase the rate again to prevent overheating of the economy. But, he thinks low rates means low prices...

Not completely. We do not have freedom of speech in the EU. We have something better, the freedom of expressing and information.
You have the freedom of saying your opinion, but are not allowed hate-speech. And the gathering of information is also protected.
April 17, 2025 at 11:26 AM
No, we do not have free speech. We have the freedom of expressing our opinion.
It is almost the same but not completely. Hate speech is illegal. You can say you do not like something, like a religion. However, you can not call for violence against that same religion.
April 17, 2025 at 11:22 AM
As mentioned in the post. You not only need to vote him out, after that you need to change your complete voting system and rule of law to prevent this of happening again. And then perhaps after you prove it functions we might start to trust you again.

Not exactly, allthough the planes are build in the US. A lot of it's parts are not. And spare parts are often produced on the continent where the service takes place. So it might be difficult for some parts, it is not all parts. And the biggest lost is in new planes.

Tariffs hurt your own people by increasing the price and with that it can reduce the consumption of that product, so it also hurts the export of that product in the country you put that tariff on. Only the US doesn't have alternatives for electronics. China has for soybeans. See the difference.
April 13, 2025 at 7:53 AM
Not necessarely. It depends on a lot of things. For instance, this is good for export because your products are relatively cheaper for other countries. This is why China does this as a policy. However, for the US it is bad news. Because you are a nett importer, so inflation will rise.
April 11, 2025 at 11:10 AM
The fact that it is used to decrease a trade deficit, and in the mean time it is more likely to increase the deficit.
Because we start buying alternative products instead of US brands but the US can't do without the items it is importing.

Man, the UK had already something that was a 100 times better. I loved watching "not the 9o'clock news"
Rowan Atkinson, Mel Smith, griffith rhys Jones and Pamela Stephenson.
April 10, 2025 at 12:30 PM
But here in the EU we used it as scalpel. Only trying to tax the goods that we can purchase elsewhere and trying to hurt red states the most.
April 10, 2025 at 10:23 AM
No, I said it can apply to me, in a professional way. But it does not apply to me in a personal way. Because the company I work for will sell less to Mexico, because we supply a company that makes car parts....
So, I'm not the dumbass. I'm not paying the tariffs but you are.
