Question: #Greenbelt #GB25 people, what's the best way to communicate with spouses and partners of #clergy who may be struggling in unhappy marriages, to let them know they are not alone? And to offer the opportunity of meeting, to those who may need to be incognito?

Great excitement all over the nation, as Broken Rites members prepare to descend on Westminster tomorrow for our AGM.
Sounds deathly dull, but it'll be a joy to gather together again with new friends & old. Especially when isolation is such a challenge for many.

Madam- While our thoughts are quite rightly with those who have experienced church-related abuse as children, we must also acknowledge the problems faced by adults who do not meet the criteria for vulnerability but who, nevertheless, experience church-related abuse. This may have been domestic abuse, spiritual abuse, sexual abuse, or other forms of abuse. Those who have suffered encounter the now well-documented problems faced by survivors of church-related child abuse, including reluctance to accept that such abuse occurs, obfuscation, failure to act, and lack of accountability. The church as an institution appers reluctant to recognise the need to respond to such situations, despite the well understood problems that arise from the abuse of power and of deference.
