I think it was because they did not want to deal with the fallout of this move with people in person.

It feels like they are going into minimal effort mode. It does not feel nor look healthy for the game.
To be honest, it’s weird this is happening during the tenth anniversary, it’s a real downer.
Right now I am hoping “Light No Fire” can be someplace I can call my new home.
