Enjoying a day at Regent’s Park, Oxford, thinking about what we can learn from the Anabaptists for our current moment.

Your voice is important beyond America. This from Pete Scazzero reminds us why.

I love it when #Glasgow is framed by blue sky and a dusting of snow on the Campsie fells. But can’t help thinking about those sleeping rough & those who cannot afford to put their heating on.

I've enjoyed seeing posts where people have listed books they have read this year. Here's what I read in 2024. #books, #reading

Book I’d been meaning to read for a while but finally got around to, was When Helping Hurts: How to Alleviate Poverty Without Hurting the Poor and Yourself by Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert.

Book which others have praised but I did not enjoy = The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Sheer determination to get to the end kept me going. I most certainly did not find this a page turner, nor as profound as what I expected

Did a community Carol event in the square near QPBC. Great to see a mix or local residents + folk from church come along. #Glasgow #Christmas

The book which made me think the most was J Richard Middleton’s Abraham’s Silence. Middleton does not mention Family Systems Theory, but his reading of the Abraham / Isaac relationship certainly made me think about the story of this family through the lens of FST 1/2

Fantastic evening at the Andrew Peterson concert in Edinburgh.

Feels like I’ve not seen the sun in days! #Glasgow is out there in the drizzle and mist.

It is a bit chilly in #Glasgow today.

Role reversal, I’m the kid going to their parents concert rather than the other way around.

Read portions of this back in 2009. Thought I’d pick it up again for a cover to cover read to exercise my mind if nothing else. #reading #theology #politics
