Once healthy, Haywood Highsmith can ball. Athletic, very good defender, great energy, and enough of a scoring threat to keep guys honest.

I think he'd fit with any team, but would mesh well with the Clippers remaining roster guys.

So..... what do you think? You like him?
February 6, 2026 at 6:46 AM
Beringer is the EXACT player I wanted to pair with Giddey and Matas.

Imagine Giddey running the fast break with Matas and Beringer streaming down either side of the court. 🥹🥹
February 6, 2026 at 12:53 AM
That would be amazing.... but I'll believe it when I see it.

I still can't believe we passed on Joan Beringer in the draft, chose the wrong tall French dude (Essengue) instead, then traded Ayo to the Wolves.... and didn't ask for Beringer in return.
February 6, 2026 at 12:52 AM
In the end, the Knicks traded Guerschon Yabusele for Jose Alvarado. That's pretty damn good.
February 6, 2026 at 12:48 AM
Nah that's what well-run teams do. No thank you! 😅😅
February 6, 2026 at 12:46 AM
It would be ok (I guess) if we WERE actually tanking... but we all know their aim is the play-in every year, to ensure we get a draft pick in the 12-14 range. That way, we won't accidentally get a good player in the draft, which may result in playoffs instead of play-in.

Classic Bulls behaviour.
😭😭
February 6, 2026 at 12:46 AM
Somebody should tell the Bulls front office that first-round picks are actually better than second-round picks.
😭😭
February 6, 2026 at 12:40 AM
So ONLY if it falls 5-9 the Clippers get the pick this year?

And if it's 1-4 or 10-30 this year, the Pacers keep that (2026) pick, and the traded pick becomes 2031 unprotected?

Am I understanding that correctly?
February 6, 2026 at 12:34 AM
So if it's 5-9 it conveys, but if it lands anywhere else, it becomes 2031 unprotected? Can anyone clarify?
February 6, 2026 at 12:31 AM
I like Richards for Chicago, but I would have liked them to take a flyer on G-League Finals MVP Ous. 😅😅 The physical tools are all there, just a matter of developing his confidence. Worth a roll of the dice, I would have thought.
February 6, 2026 at 12:29 AM
Weird that they couldn't get a couple of 2nd-round picks for him at least. I don't understand the logic behind this.

Does waiving him save/create a heap of cap space compared to trading him for 2nd-rounders?
February 6, 2026 at 12:26 AM
That's crazy to me. I know nobody wanted him.... but surely the Grizzlies wanted him LEAST.

They're rebuilding with a tonne of draft picks, why would they want such a negative presence around a young rebuilding team?

What will they do? Just waive and stretch him? Surely he's not actually staying?
February 6, 2026 at 12:23 AM
Well-deserved!
February 6, 2026 at 12:18 AM
You guys are going to love him! Sincerely, an Aussie Hawks fan who has watched Jock's entire career.
February 6, 2026 at 12:15 AM
That's EPIC! Can't wait to watch the game! No spoilers please because I wanna watch a replay, but I hope my fellow Aussies Foxwell & O'Donnell contributed well to the upset win.

I know zero about wrestling, zero about AEW, and zero about Brody King.... but this is fucking awesome.

As others have said, American fake wrestling fans are very far down my list of "Audiences I Would Have Expected To Hear This From."

Good stuff AEW fans!!!
February 5, 2026 at 8:43 AM
Yeah six years away. 😅 To put it in perspective, the 2032 Olympics are in my city (Brisbane Australia), and I haven't noticed them starting to build anything yet.
February 5, 2026 at 5:32 AM
Really?! That's extremely interesting. Was that a young Shawn Kemp, or when he was older and significantly.... ummm.... heavier?
February 5, 2026 at 5:15 AM
I'd say it's pretty terrible. Kuminga's value was sky-high a few years ago.

They should have traded him when they first got an inkling that their relationship was heading towards... whatever the hell you call the 2025/26 "Kuminga situation," where he's a DNP-CD every game, despite being healthy.
February 5, 2026 at 5:13 AM
Nah I wouldn't imagine he ever stops yapping, even while asleep.
February 5, 2026 at 5:07 AM
Somehow that actually comes across as very sweet and genuine from Harden. Maybe it only feels noteworthy because it's such a departure from his usual burnt bridges and quitting on his team.... but hopefully this is how he will handle things from now on.

Love your work, as always Law.
February 5, 2026 at 3:06 AM
Love it! I'm Australian, so I already love the Hawks because of Dyson. With Trae gone and adding Jock Landale, I'm even more pumped about this team.
February 5, 2026 at 3:00 AM
Thanks Sam. Always love your work.... and your colleagues at the Athletic are great. Thank you from a fellow Australian hoops-nerd slash sicko.
February 5, 2026 at 2:53 AM
I had a Shawn Kemp poster as a kid, and was shocked by how skinny his ankles were.

When I read that study, I saw my own ankles, and realised it may be why I'm athletic for a white guy. I was a high-level Aussie footballer, high-jumper, and could dunk at age 16 despite being only 6'0".

GO SCIENCE!!
