2025 Surgical and Perioperative Care Interest Group Meeting Call for Abstracts: Submission Deadline: January 31, 2025 (Friday) at 11:59 PM EST The Surgical and Perioperative Care Interest Group is seeking abstracts for oral presentations of completed work at the Interest Group’s Annual Meeting, to be held during the 2025 AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting in Minneapolis, MN (June 7 to June 10, 2025). Abstracts will be selected for 7-minute presentations, followed by 3 minutes for questions. Abstracts from surgeons, anesthesiologists, perioperative nurses, health services researchers, or investigators from related clinical areas are encouraged. Residents, fellows, and junior faculty are particularly encouraged to apply. Topics: All studies focusing on surgical quality, outcomes, workforce issues, economics, and related health services and policy are welcome. Word limit: 500 words. Abstract may include one image or table, which will not count toward limit. Abstract sections: Research Objective, Study Design, Population Studied, Principal Findings, Conclusions, and Implications for Policy or Practice. Identifying information: As submissions will undergo blinded review, please do not include authors’ names or institutions in your abstract document. Multiple submissions: Although research teams are welcome to submit more than one abstract, no more than one abstract per individual or research team will be selected for presentation. Criteria for Evaluating Submissions: Submissions will undergo blinded peer review by the Interest Group’s Advisory Committee and will be evaluated by the following criteria: -Quality and originality -Appropriateness and/or novelty of analytic methods -Implications for the delivery of surgical and perioperative care. and -Clarity of writing and presentation There will be an award for the highest scoring abstract submitted by a trainee or student.
