I like how one example of “sabotage” is simply “not using AI”

That’s a broad definition of sabotage

Fantastic write up. Tools shaping us is so important for people to think about. The car analogy is perfect. I’ll be in a hotel tonight and my destination in the morning is less than a mile away… but I’ll have to grab an Uber instead of walking it because the area is unwalkable

Interview in Denver timed out so that I get to hope my flight home doesn’t get hit tomorrow. May have to crash with random extended family if I can’t make it back…

This is truth... also now I really need to see this talk!

That and the audio not recording are the worst! I just want to crawl back into bed when I do it…

Astro 5.8.1. I'll DM some details

I'd honestly love to figure out what happened. I had an issue last week where a server island started giving 500 errors and by the next day fixed itself, as well.

About 30 minutes after I gave up trying to figure it out, things came back on their own

And when I download the deploy, the files are there in the right spots. It looks like @astro.build is building things in the proper place, but Netlify isn't serving the CSS, though it's serving the SVG located in the _astro directory... all of this was working before...

The server island was registering a 500 error in the browser network panel and the Netlify logs were showing that error.

Timestamp: Oct 30, 02:53:36 PM: 0bb5bd7f ERROR 18:53:36 [ERROR]

The error cleared itself up, but was happening from about 2:30 p.m. EDT - 4p.m.ish. Then worked this morning

Mine's working now... no code pushes. Not sure what sort of temporary issue it was. Posted about it over in the Astro Discord

Very strange! I’ll give that a shot later today, thanks for sharing!

Absolutely fantastic! Go get that art, off-line life!

Yup! So many DevRel jobs at AI companies. Not anywhere close to willing to do them. Not even really willing to work for a company milking the hype train.

To be clear, I had some phenomenal conversations with attendees, but it definitely hit me that this is such a massive push from all levels

"You probably won't be more productive, you may very well deskill yourself, and there may be psychological ramifications."

"Yeah, but if I don't use it, my boss may think I'm not 'keeping up with tech trends'"

I see the same thing in new applications incorporating chatbots:

"We don't need to think about the UI of how to show data. We can just put a chatbot there and the user can find whatever they need."

Customization options weren't the right path back then. Chatbots aren't the right path now.
