This year has basically been all about willing all the shit I've ever wanted to do into existence for myself. Can't wait to share this sometime down the line.

Few filmmakers mean more to my sensibilities than Larry Fessenden. Never would’ve dreamed I’d get to write some words about one of his best let alone spend a Friday night with him helping out at his signing. Always meet your heroes even though he’d bust my balls for saying that

It feels a little dumb to mourn a mall but hearing the iconic Monroeville Mall from Dawn of the Dead is set to be torn down in the next few years kinda bummed me out. Grew up going there. Hope they keep some sorta landmark with the George Romero bust up somewhere at least

Shoutout to MVD for sending over this killer Radiance release of Malpertuis. Been wanting to check this one out for quite awhile

Here’s me working NYFF. I have a ton of interviews in the can or scheduled at some point post-festival. Living the life.

Seems like many folks are making the jump which means I should stop forgetting to post here. Have a few things coming in the next couple months but for now, here's me on The News last months talking the late great Robert Redford

The Secret Agent (Kleber Mendonça Filho): Less an ode to movie palaces than it is to the people who used to occupy them. Even then, who owns that memory? Those of us who view it through treacly sentimentality, or those who were there but can barely remember at all? It's great.

Incredibly proud to have my Arrow essay debut included in such a great film. So proud of this one

A life highlight hanging with Lav Diaz for a bit

Rewatched Signs last night. Still a masterpiece, close to his best, but this time I was so moved by how vulnerable it is, particularly Graham Hess. I think he’s M. Night best lead. Such an open hearted choice to lead with fear and uncertainty from moment to moment. Special film.

So excited to share that I have an essay in this upcoming release of Larry Fessenden's excellent take on Frankenstein, Depraved. Few filmmakers mean more to me than him and it was a true honor to be included in this.

So proud to be back in @fangoria.bsky.social, this time for a great chat with Alex Phillips on his killer new film, Anything That Moves.

Also so cool to be in the same issue as this instant all timer of a cover, paying homage to that classic Tom Savini cover
