2/ I think this shooting gets by the qualified immunity defense, but you're right The big issue is going to be getting evidence from the feds to put on a case at the state level.

1/ So the challenge is going to be over qualified immunity for federal officers performing their duties. The issue will come down to bringing a charge is was the officer in this instance actually carrying out his immigration duties or as I believe just the pissed off a-hole looking for a fight?

This has been a long battle in Utah to preserve independence in redistricting which the Utah GOP has constantly tried to undermine since 2020. Voters approved the independent, but Republicans were not happy they couldn't tip the scales. I think this ruling will succeed through SCOTUS.

Maybe all those voters that wanted Trump to detain immigrants because they were stealing jobs will fill those jobs. No I don't think so.

It was very easy to root for Europe in this Ryder Cup. The reasons are obvious. But now the American golfers are completely weaponized by Donald Trump.

I would have appreciated the dialogue even more if he said that political leaders need to turn off the rhetoric and just lead. But, then the clown in the WH ups the ante on the hate speech to stoke the fire before it can go out.
