Cruel and inhumane. Not to mention illegal. Where is the justice?

Are the peacemakers the ones roaming our streets with guns? The ones blowing up people in other countries? The ones threatening to use the military to conquer Greenland? The ones grabbing women by the p****? The ones murdering someone and then calling them a "f****** b****?"

It is amazing what some tiny birds yelling and whistling can do. But it takes that first bird to be brave enough to approach and raise the alarm. And it takes the coordination of other birds to heed the call and rush in the moment the predator is spotted.

We can learn a lot from birds.

The predator has the choice to stay in the area but be exposed to everyone around, or leave and try again elsewhere.

They know that even though it can be risky to approach a predator, there is safety in numbers. What does all the commotion do to promote safety? It makes it impossible for the predator to hunt. Everyone in the neighborhood knows where the predator is.

I've seen a chickadee give alarm calls next to a hawk and within seconds there are woodpeckers, jays, crows, robins, and nuthatches swarming the area, all giving alarm calls around the predator.

She's the coolest kid. And I'm thankful for the childhood we can give her, even when the adult world is falling apart.

Pretty fitting considering ICE pepper sprayed students at a Minneapolis high school after the murder of Renee Nicole Good. ICE better leave our kids and our neighbors alone.
