But she'll always be too good for this world in my heart, likely because she was exactly what I needed 9 years ago when she first formed in my head to play a silly little D&D game that would one day be the start of a different journey.

Now, Eira has probably lost a bit of that to her personality since her D&D days. Much of her backstory and campaign story morphed to fit a novel rather than a tabletop campaign setting.

And maybe it's just me, but other characters I've seen who I'd personally categorize as a goody-two-shoes aren't often shown in that way. They just do the right thing or follow all the rules as if it's actually the easiest path.

To be quite honest, I think the reason I love her despite that is because she wants to do the right thing—to be a goody-two-shoes—but actually struggles with it, because sometimes the "right thing" isn't the easy choice. Sometimes it's not even the choice you want to make.
