A small gallery in Northeast Ohio is the first place in the United States to show a collection of Salvador Dalí paintings from 1971. The paintings, which were commissioned by the Belgian textile company Scabal, envision men's fashion in the year 2000.

This week I’ve written about the lack of diversity at anti-Trump protests and viewed a Dalí exhibit. Tomorrow I’ll attend rehearsal for a musical that was first staged in Akron in 1925. Friday, I’m heading to a park to cover a bird census. Being a journalist isn’t perfect, but it is pretty great.

On Saturday, 325 high school girls converged on the Jean Hower Taber Student Union at the University of Akron to browse more than 2,000 prom dresses and hundreds of shoes, purses and jewelry — all provided to the girls for free.

The Akron History Center will open April 5 — and Caitlyn Conley is ready.

"I'm actually really just excited to get open, to see people’s reactions, and to share Akron’s history with a lot of people,” said Conley, who will manage the museum. “People don’t realize the depth of Akron history."
