I remember my parents talking about a neighbour kid saying it was strange how they wouldn’t look people in the eye, thinking that’s me. Yet they never noticed with me because I just did the eye thing after that.

I’m still debating myself if I should get diagnosed. Like you I’ve always felt different. I would join groups thinking I’d found my tribe only to notice that I did not quite fit in eventually. Only when it was mentioned that my daughter might be high functioning autistic did the lightbulb come on.
