Always wondered what impact #micro #particles from cars (brake & tyre dust plus other manmade particles) might have on large larvae of Lepidoptera. Chemical build-up during larval stage must have significant effects on viability of larvae? Must be research project worthy if not already studied?

One of the biggest butterflies in Europe, the caterpillars feed aspen trees, mainly Populus tremula.

The answer is yes! Rather than enabling nature to recolonise naturally, there are many obsessed by reintroduction. We should always put caution over reintroduction. We think we know it all. Recent scientific discoveries prove otherwise. Let's enable nature rather than play God. Protect wild spaces!
