Blanching them doesn’t “blow off” the toxin anymore than regularly thoroughly cooking as both treatments will heat liberate some volatile gyromitrin. A simple blanch also wouldn’t be enough time to matter for its water solubility. With a tiny 2-5mg/kg gyromitrin they just need some thorough cooking
