Maybe I do believe that I’m intuitive, observant, empathetic, so much so that I can read someone’s emotions. Know their intentions. Maybe my intuition wavers and my judgement clouds. Just like any human, I’m imperfect. I’ve been fooled by my own mind, too good at convincing myself of my own delusions. Is it easier to believe that someone truly means it when they look you in the eyes and tells you they love you? Is it easier to believe that they truly mean it when they tell you that you’re beautiful? When you see it in their eyes, feel it in your heart that the words float on empty, hollow air and do nothing for you? To just fake a smile and a thank you? One day I hope to not have to do that. I’m done convincing myself. I’m done cutting myself with the sharp knife of my own mind. One day, if I believe, then will I let myself fall in love? Give someone the true power to break my heart? As long as I stop breaking my own and stop ignoring my own intuitions.

As someone who has a mind racing at the speed of light, I find one of the most effective ways to quiet the mind to meditate or focus on an intention is by counting the minutes to 60 seconds on repeat, close your eyes and look for the images on the back of your eyelids.
